Addiction2Recovery
We will evaluate, discuss and educate on all types of addiction topics. However, we will highlight the nuanced differences between the medical field (Dr. Heather- Addiction Physician) and those with the disease of addiction (Josh- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist). Episodes will not only bring you the specifics of addiction including the neurobiology of addiction and how that translates into the 'real world' but they will also bring you interviews from individuals in early or long-term recovery, therapists, family members, friends, clergy, treatment providers and so much more! We would love to hear from you, whether you have a question, suggestion, recommendation, request or even if you'd like to be a guest on the show!

79. Wellbriety with Kateri Coyhis
We are honored to be joined in this episode by Kateri Coyhis, the director of Wellbriety. Wellbriety, and its overarching White Bison, focuses on 'going beyond being just sober--- it is whole-person wellness" focused on inclusion and universal human teachings. Wellbriety focuses on integration of the Native American culture (or through inclusivity any human idea of culture) into prevention, treatment and long-term recovery. The movement has continued to grow, as you will hear, and has added the additional foci of initiatives aimed at youth, reentry programs, communities in healing, the fatherhood initiative, Mending Broken Hearts (focused on grief, trauma and intergenerational trauma), and more, as they are always evolving and growing to meet the needs of the people.
