Addiction2Recovery
We will evaluate, discuss and educate on all types of addiction topics. However, we will highlight the nuanced differences between the medical field (Dr. Heather- Addiction Physician) and those with the disease of addiction (Josh- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist). Episodes will not only bring you the specifics of addiction including the neurobiology of addiction and how that translates into the 'real world' but they will also bring you interviews from individuals in early or long-term recovery, therapists, family members, friends, clergy, treatment providers and so much more! We would love to hear from you, whether you have a question, suggestion, recommendation, request or even if you'd like to be a guest on the show!

58. Pastor John McKinzie- Hope Fellowship- Forgiveness, Love and Addiction
Pastor John McKinzie, the lead pastor for Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco/McKinney/Prosper, Texas (just outside of Dallas), joins us today to discuss forgiveness, love and addiction. This man single-handedly helped Josh in his recovery journey and continues to inspire so many with grace and acceptance and love, often leading with, "I'm sorry that you experience that." In terms of addiction, he states it is, "something that has grabbed our life in such a way that on our own we can't get out." We highly recommend visiting Hope Fellowship's website at: www.hopefellowship.net If you are in the Dallas area, tonight (2/29/24), they are hosting a Fentanyl Awareness night at 6pm at the Frisco East campus.
