38. Stigma Artist- William Stoehr- 'Victims, Witnesses, Survivors'
Nov 02, 2023 Episode 38
Heather Bell, Josh Solem

Having been a witness of his sister's substance use disorders, William Stoehr, an artist, began his mission to start the conversations and to end stigma. He paints only faces stating, "I try to create an environment where you don't just see a pair of eyes but you engage with those eyes." His art exhibition is called "Victims, Witnesses, and Survivors" for we are each one of those and at the exhibition one walks around as if in a sea of people, each one telling a story. The art, however, isn't the only purpose, for the goal is also to spark conversations about the disease of addiction in order to further break down stigma. His exhibitions also feature panels and resources to educate and empower and bring care and help to those with SUD and their loved ones. This episode not only starts Bill's conversation but it also motivates and inspires. To see more of Bill's work, visit: home | Mysite (williamstoehrart.com)
